Past Important Dates...

The 15 May 1994 Lindisfarne 10k was born. It ran on the causeway and around the island it had 500 runners from all over Great Britain.

A silver disc was donated by the band Lindisfarne their hit (Run for home) which was the top prize to the winner of the race.

It was run again in 1995 &1996 but had to stop due to traffic problems.

In 1994 seven members of Berwick Harriers travelled north to the Great Glen 12 stage relay of 64 miles from Fort William to Inverness.

Each runner had to complete two separate stages from four to 7.5 miles the team finish in sixth place out of 15 teams in a time of 7 hours 6 minutes 39 seconds.

In 1998 Harriers charity run it was called the Bay Six it ran over sand and grass tracks. The race raised £150 pounds for Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In 1989 the Harriers received a grant from the Mcvties Biscuit Company to promote sport in the area. So a six race handicap X.C. event started. The Harriers invited the Norham club to stage three races they were held at Cocklawburn near Berwick and Galagate farm Norham.

At the present time there are six clubs now involved in the event it has been a big success from day one.

 It is now called the North Easten Borders X.C Series.

In 1999 three junior members travelled to Australia to compete in the Edwin Flack games in the City of Casey. Edwin Flack was Australians first olympic champion in Athens in 1896 he won the 800m & 1500m.

 The games were the run up to the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
